Philippine Airlines has agreed to ferry relief supplies from the United States to the Philippines free of charge on board its newest Boeing 777-300ER series planes (RP-C7772) slated for arrival in Manila Wednesday.

“We join the entire country at this critical time in wanting to see a quick and concerted effort to provide aid to the Visayas region,” PAL President and chief operating officer Ramon S. Ang said as San Miguel Corporation and its subsidiaries launched concerted effort to respond to typhoon Yolanda victims in the Visayas.

“We will do everything we can to assist in government’s efforts to respond to the needs of our countrymen,” says Ang.

The airline earlier extended its charity work ferrying to Tacloban a rescue team from the Metro Manila Development Authority, about 70 doctors from the Department of Health, Red Cross personnel, several medical mission groups, troops from the Aviation Security Group (to augment airport security), crews from news organizations, as well as tons of relief goods, medicines, medical equipment and cadaver bags for free on its Bombardier Q400 planes.

The return trips of the eight special commercial flights carried stranded passengers with confirmed bookings for PAL Express and other airlines.
